southern MN
I’ve said this before so I’ll keep the story short, had a Tom cat that grew up and he developed a route around my ditch, he would go every day be gone all afternoon. If he came back with a gopher it was a good day, he would eat the first one if he brought one back it was the second of the day. I had a weedy mess along the ditch for years, 4-5 rows wouldn’t be there, that cat kept those gophers away for nearly 10 years.

We used to have rat terrier dogs, they would try but they weren’t very efficient at it, would catch one every now ant then.

Don’t know what to do to do with them otherwise. I think natural predators are on the rise here and keep them in check, I don’t see them like I used to.
