You have more faith in the government than I do. I would be reluctant to give the government any more information than they need.

What about the situation where vehicles regularly cross state lines? Where a vehicle is driven is going to indicate where the mileage tax money goes. Mileage tax would probably have to be collected by a federal agency, then transferred to a state.

I can certainly understand the attractiveness of a mileage tax. That said, I see issues with privacy.
