The thick short crimp fitting appears to be a heavy pattern style fitting vs the other one a standard duty. Finished crimp dimension is different but I don’t think it matters what brand of hose you use as long as it’s a standard SAE type that the fitting is designed for.
I have a Parker press that I’ve figured out how to crimp the heavy pattern ends from Discount hydraulics, but it’s unable to crimp the standard ones enough. The dies bottom out in the press and it’s not possible to crimp to a smaller diameter. So I have to use the more expensive ends.
Sounds like your Gates machine is adjustable. You need a caliper and some reference charts for the fittings you’re purchasing. | |
