Got a used, new to me crimper. Made first hose. Got new fittings from local supplier and it held well. Old fitting that come with the machine did not hold. Both fitting were on a half inch hose. Thread sizes were different. Here’s my question, how do you know what setting on the chart to use? I used the 3.96 for both ends but the longer skinnier fitting failed versus the new shorter fatter fitting. I’m sorry but I’m new to this crimping stuff. Thanks. See pics.
Edit. This is a 733 die also.
the builder, seller needs to get you the crimp OD of the fitting
then check the OD after crimping
on a 1 inch hose 0.010 makes a hugh difference |
