 nc IA | Interesting you bring up the drainage aspect, in my field, the two areas are naturally a bit wetter, but by no means the wettest of the farm. Both are tiled out, but in both cases, they are at low points and take longer to drain off given the fall available. One is a more traditional location, by a fencerow, which we've found to be more of a habitat / origination point from what we've learned. The other is about 100-150' in from a mid section fenceline. Tile in my case is anywhere from 50-60' centers.
I appreciate the ideas presented, have some herbicides to look up with my chem supplier, and I still think that plow might be a tool to try since it is such a small area too. I'm willing to sacrifice the structure in that small area for a year or two if it stops it. | |
