Plugged row. Sometimes, on these poor soils, this row wont make anything. Usually there will be another 200 lbs N broadcast or fertigated, but the neighbor rows will canopy over it and leave it behind. Sidedressing helps. Sandy loam soils are not very forgiving are they.

Usually use 25-30 gallons of 12-12-0, no additional P, but it likes some P to get started, and the N lasts 30 days till you can come back. The corn in this pic was planted on March 3rd.
