In the past I commented on how we had overheating issues on all the Kubota diesels except one. The radiators, air filters, and everything else is kept meticulously clean and serviced. The newest Kubota zero turn diesel started overheating with just a couple hundred hours. Always keep things clean and dust free. We replaced the usual suspect parts except the engine heads which are said to be a possible cause. At first it would appear that the overheating issues were gone but we never solved any of it long term. The overheating returns.
I’ve tried babying the mowers and only mow for short intervals to allow the engines to cool. Frequent stops are necessary when the outside temp gets close to 90 degrees Fahrenheit and above. Even the newest RTV overheats within five minutes or less after starting the engine. It’s frustrating.
On the oldest RTV there’s a constant smell of antifreeze when the engine is running. Can’t find any visible leaks or drips and the antifreeze level doesn’t drop. It’s the only Kubota diesel that doesn’t frequently overheat.
