nw NC | Not perennial ryegrass. But it will regrow for a second cutting. After that there will be some short regrowth that will make small seed heads that will make seed before the volunteer crabgrass and other summer annual "weed"grasses grow for a harvest of hay or silage in August. That small seed production is how the stuff keeps coming year after year.
I just realized that you may have been asking about the field being in grass permanently. Yes, it will be permanent grassland, as I do not need to grow as much corn for silage as previously.
