NC Indiana | If you're in a dry climate, I would want 3 wires - 1 hot at nose high on a sow and 1 hot nose high on a piglett, then put 1 in the middle that isn't insulated and run it back to your ground terminal on your charger to increase your bite on them. Remember to keep your ground field moist - dump a 5 gallon bucket per ground rod every week if dry. Then I would get a Taylor Fence Cyclops charger. We keep bulls from heifers in heat with a Brute 8 Joule. It will knock you off your feet. 4000 ft of 175K strength smooth wire is $100 here at the farm stores. Growing up we ran raise hogs out on lots with hot wire. If they get their head past the wire they're running through it. | |
