I am assuming baling wire is about the same gauge as Cal-Tie wire, 60 pounds is about the max I would suspend from it. It is usually uniform in size, but a manufacturing error could cause imperceptible size variation, causing weak spots. Twists could cause heat weakening, if twisted too tight.
