Yes, everyone runs a mounted planter around here, usually dont have to add weight, both are pretty heavy. You have to make sure you have enough gauge wheels to let the planter carry itself and the tractor just pulls it along, then its just the same as a pull type planter, but its better because its mounted lol. 

Thats the main reason we are going away from a 2x2 fertilizer system and going with in furrow and dribble system. We have had instances when its really dry that we have struggled a bit to get proper depth and the less we have to put in the ground the better IMO. Dont want to add weight if I dont have to because we still have to pick that weight up. 

We have 6700 Whites with the 4 down pressure springs
