They will fit in a 6' trailer. I've fit a newer defender and ranger 1000 in one. It's very tight but they will go. If you need more clearence putting rear of trailer up in air so door opens more you gain a lot of clearence with rear axle of utv lower. Even just having two people ride while loading will lower it a couple inches.

Very few trailers have an extra 12", quite a few have the +6" option.
