NW Washington | Kale is real high in vitamin K which helps your blood to clot. So if you are on blood thinners you should avoid Kale. Darn the bad luck.
Years ago I remember seeing them harvest kale in the winter in Virginia sometimes even with snow on it. I have heard that it get better after it has been frosted, but I am not interested in a taste test.
Kale, collards and mustard greens used to just be a southern thing, but now kale is all over the healthy food scene. | |
