That isn't so bad if you drop the sticks in the trench and push them in place with the excavator and never go down there, but if you had a person in that same trench the day before and then saw the cave in, that can put a lump in your stomach. Praise God no one got hurt. One of the most dangerous places for a cave in is at tile connections above a newly plowed deep main. The soil there is already loose and if not stepped it will easily cave in and that is right where the person is on their knees making the connection. I took a lot of extra time stepping my connection holes last week, but it was not wasted time.
