Subject: Re: Drying SB again

Windom, MN
Also started drying beans yesterday. We tried to put a knimpco in front of a fan for 4 days, but it really didn't do much for us. I figure the wet beans are about 16.5 %, and have been running our farm fans AB/CF 270 in batch mode. I've been running the Plenum at 150 (it didn't run right lower than that) for 40 minutes, cool for 14 minutes, then auger out. Tested them at 13.5% now, so I think we'll stay there and take the paper shrink. The sample looks pretty good, and the only problem we've had is some pods plugging the sump on the wet bin, so we're out there when the dryer is loading again.

Forgot to mention our air temp has been about 40 degrees, which I believe affects how long they need to stay in the drier.
