Extreme NE Colorado (almost Nebraska) | In February 2013, I awoke one morning to a very loud buzzing sound that seemingly came out of nowhere. For three years I tried everything, including the above mentioned hearing aids that played the discordant tones. They were probably the most help, with the exception of a download I found on the internet that I still play today when it gets really bad. It's on a little mp3 player hooked to a small speaker that I place near my ear. It seems to block the buzzing, replaced by the white noise that is much more tolerable. The tinnitus affected my life in a negative way for three years, in which time I actually considered a final solution. I now have come to a place of acceptance, using the white noise thing as needed, but otherwise living as normally as before. If you have heard of the stages of grief one goes through when losing a loved one, that is how I describe my journey. I thought my life had ended, but perseverance, with support from my loved ones, brought me through. |
