Lb94 - 4/15/2021 16:50 I'm surprised nobody mentioned you can just tie the gate to your corner post with some #9 wire and let it stand on the ground if worried about the corner post not being big enough for it. I never hung a gate in my life until last year but nobody in my family ever did, plenty of gates in pastures now 40+ years old still not rotten on the bottom too bad. That being said with the price of new gates I'm hanging any new ones I buy


Are you my uncle????? Helped him sort calves the other day and none of his gates swing, I hate having to pick up and drag a gate every time I have to open or close it. 



I bet your uncle never has to worry about a calf getting its head under the gate and popping it off the hinges
