The hazards will not shut down with the key. The battery disconnect will not shut off with the hazards running. If you have problems and need to reset the machine to clear a major fault, make sure you shut the hazards off first. If you don't it will just click and not reset the computer.
So in short if the hazard switch fails, you have to pull the fuse to shut them off.
The light module can act up like that, and they have been know to go bad.
Machines 2011 have been more prone to screwy light modules than the newer ones in my opinion and experience as well.
Shut all the lights off, pull fuses for lights if necessary, and let the battery disconnect. Usually takes care of any glitches.
