Friend was serving in Iraq.  One of their vehicles got destroyed and the Army sent them a new one, but it wasn't similar to the one destroyed.  Nobody was trained on the new one, so the commander said, "Let Andy drive it, he's a farm kid, they can drive anything".  And he did.  Later, the same commander was heard to tell another officer, "just give me a platoon of farm kids".
