Yes good exercise.
Have lots of small limestone rocks too.
Spent many hours picking them and putting in mud holes in laneways that ran back centre of farms when we started farming and had small fields on each farm.
That has not been a problem at home farm where I continue to keep a laneway that allows me access to woodlot at back of home farm and our farm south of home.
However that farm south of us is now 1 field and I have spent years picking up those stones placed in the old laneway.

The small limestones do work well to build up driveway entrances and widen them as trucks keep getting bigger.
When posting the picts earlier I thought of the drive across the road that gained a larger entrance last year from handpicked stones but did not have a pic of that
Trucker was quite happy last fall as we hauled corn out of there.

I have both granite and limestone but a creek bottom section is all rounded granite and where I got most of the flat granite that I used for the walk.
Took a few years to acquire enough though
