When it's jammed, open up the door and rock that cartridge back and forth slightly while trying to move the lever. Mine has jammed a couple of times and I'm not sure exactly what gets it back working again, but it's some combination of what I listed. You don't have to force anything, it's just some alignment issue so wiggling the mechanism around eventually gets back into time (I guess).
