Friday night Texas State Trooper Chad Walker was shot while on duty by a man in what was said to be a disabled vehicle. Chad had pulled up behind the pickup to offer help. This happened near Mexia, TX. I don’t have all the details on that, but the suspect opened fire on the trooper. The man fled the scene and later committed suicide. A helicopter transported the trooper to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition. Today, State Trooper Chad Walker, a husband and father of four, passed away from his injuries sustained from the gun shots.
Such a senseless act of violence was committed. I’m at a loss for much else to say other than I pray for Chad’s loved ones and friends as well as those of the shooter.
