western NY | The pto on my 7810 will start and run a few seconds and shut off. No speed is indicated on the dash and we thought it was the speed sensor so I replaced it and no luck. It will sometimes run for hours with no problem and other times you can't get it going at all. A friend who used to be a JD service tech told me it may be the star wheel pickup under the speed sensor which makes sense and I plan to see if I can determin that tomorrow. I think if the speed sensor is removed I can try to stick a screw driver in the hole and turn the pto shaft by hand and see if the pickup wheel catches and if it slips. Does any of this sound like it would be my problem or have anyone else had this trouble? | |
