NC Kansas
A lot of variables... how much wrap are you using? We use the bare minimum as we don’t haul hay far, rarely sell and use it up within 2-3 years.
How often are you feeding? We are only feeding ground hay from Feb. 1st to April 15th on avg. are you feeding Oct 1st-May 1st? Dry lotting all year?
Is there a lot of long stringy pieces in your ground hay? Or is it pretty well chopped up?
Are you trying to keep cows to 15 years? and if they make it that far was it always net wrap that woulda taken them down prematurely? What’s premature to you? 8 years? 11 years?
Do I think it would be best for maximum POTENTIAL animal health to remove it? Sure that would be best. But that doesn’t always match up with productivity/efficiency which is often more important to the bottom line.
A lot of blanket statements here, some of them pretty harsh.
