I planted some marigolds with a Earthway push planter last year. Even though they are small seeds I had to use a plate with a larger hole than I would have thought I would to get them to flow through the hole. I don't remember which plate I used. You might use your big planter to lay the rows off and them come back with the push planter and follow the rows.
