Minnesota | If your are really struggling, first set all of the depth adjustment cranks the same (measure the threads). Then, find the most level surface that you can unfold the machine -- cement pad is good, otherwise a level driveway. Then lower the machine so the sweeps are almost touching the ground. Turn the turnbuckle on the hitch which ever way needed to then get the same distance between the sweeps and the ground on the front and rear. This will get it the front-back level close.
Then, take it out the the field and fine tune the front-back leveling. I usually just dig behind to see if is leaving any ridges. Adjust the turnbuckle -- you don't have to turn it much to make a change. Next adjust the depth on each wing section to get them all to dig the same depth. Like the other people said, they won't all be the same. On my machine, the center section needs a shallower setting and the outer wings need deeper to get them all to the same actual depth. After you have everything the way you want it and you need to make depth adjustments -- turn each depth crank the same number of turns and you will keep everything consistent. If you make a big depth change, you will need to re-level....but a 1-3 turns on the depth seems to stay pretty level front-back.
Last tip -- to adjust the depth cranks -- raise the machine, then lower back down. That will take the pressure of the depth cranks and make them easier to turn. The front-back level is easiest to turn with the machine raised.
TM is a very good machine. I have had three of them....but, they don't work well if they aren't running level!! You will get really frustrated if you try to set both the depth and level at the same time! Make one adjustment at a time until get more familiar
