Subject: Thank you

North Central MN. Wolf Lake
Long time lurker, first time posting.
First I want to thank the owners, and all of the posters on NAT. You have helped me make it through a very difficult year for me.

Here is my shortend story.

I am a Mn dairy and crop farmer.
Married with 4 children ages 3 to 11.

Last spring I was having major stomach pains. Went to the doctor. Found I had a tumor by my Colon. Went for surgery to remove tumor (cancerous stage 4) a bunch of my colon, appendix (also had acute appendicitis), some small intestine, and a kidney.

I then spent all summer and fall doing chemo. If I would even do 1 days work my blood numbers would not climb high enough and would have to push treatment back a week.

After chemo was radiation which ended last Friday.

My latest test results have been clear.

So it has been a long year for me, but I have spent a lot of time reading NAT sometimes many hours per day. It helped me from going crazy.

So thanks to all ones again.
Lanny

I hope that I might be able to help someone here in time.

You, sir, are an inspiration. Kudos for not ignoring something that didn't seem right and congratulations for being here today to talk about it. My wife ignored a problem to the point it damn near killed her and though she's here today to talk about it she'll suffer for it for the remainder of her days.

Welcome to the zoo!

I’m so sorry to hear about your health. You are probably close in age to me based on your kids ages. I can’t fathom what your daily walk must be like. I will add you to my prayer list and I hope that you’re healing and gaining strength every day.

Good that you got treatment and it was successful for the cancer. I pray that follow up scans are clear also, and you continue to be blessed with healing.

Hopefully your road to full recovery goes well!

I think we are all bred, born and raised to be thick skinned and mute our feelings, troubles and problems. It almost feels shameful when a person shares those issues that we have. We don't want pity, but deep down want/need the sympathy or empathy. Sometimes it's just the mental relief of not feeling "alone". The reassurance that even a stranger can provide, knowing that "they've been there" helps a lot too. Also, any extra prayers that anybody can provide, sure helps out a lot as well.

Glad to hear you are doing good. At 29 I went through colon cancer, had three children under the age of six. Doctors treated me for everything but that, didn't think to look at colon because of my young age. eight months later they decided to look there after my wife insisted. Went through forty two chemo treatments shortly after the surgery. I've been blessed, twenty five years later and cancer free. Continued Prayers for you and your family.

Being of stubborn Finnish ancestry myself, I find it hard to believe a good hot sauna or two didn't melt the tumor. ;-)

I hauled a couple loads of corn to Wolf Lake for a stubborn Finnish friend/neighbor of mine, to a stubborn Finnish cow milking relative of my neighbor back in the day. My neighbor hauled our snowmobiles up one trip with his pickup/trailer, and we did a little riding around the Wolf Lake area for a day.

Glad to read you are on the mend...I still can't believe the sauna didn't melt the tumor. ;-)

Did the delivery instructions include turning by the big oak tree. My father has bought corn from relatives (Dave) in your area.
