Mendota illinois | I am thinking about a container gardening. Using plastic totes of various sizes. Movable, can be elevated, seems interesting. Better weed control, easier. Watering. May just try some.
Spring is just around the corner, seems like an awlful big corner, though!
Have a good day

New Castle, PA | We have been planting some things for several years in old poly cattle troughs. Usually lettuce ,green onions ,, spinach, herbs , etc. Still plant larger plant crops like tomatoes, peppers, green beans in ground with plastic and drip line . Also plant all vine crops in ground with plastic and drip line |

| We don’t need a big garden, didn’t want to spend a ton of money on it, so only used totes. Drilled lots of holes in it for drainage. Put in an automatic watering system. Much easier to take care of.

Central In | I have some raised beds without borders and some amended areas with traditional rows. Works good for me. |

| We've been really happy with these, think I am going to add at least one more this spring. It's really nice to have that toe space underneath when you are working up close, kinda like at your kitchen countertops. Easy to set up for drip line watering too. It took a few dollars compared to using "free" dirt, but the top foot or so I purchased sterilized soil for. Between that and a layer of grass clippings for mulch, it's very nearly weed-free gardening.

swohio | Plastic totes, what a great idea. No more bending over. That is so easy to do. Easy to cover stuff up if frost coming. |

Funny thing is, one of those flare boxes had been sitting in the corner of a shed for literally my whole life- I'd never seen it move- and one day after looking at it a thousand times and being aggravated that it was taking up space with zero productivity, this idea hit me. There's also a turd hearse that I may add to the fleet of gardens. |

Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I built 4 raised beds. 2' high, 4 foot wide, 16' long. We grow a lot of stuff in them. We usually cover one with plastic to get an early start. Plus, inter seed crops so we have something growing all the time. Thinking about trying to make one covered for all winter.
I used 2 x 12"s braced them inside so they don't warp out. Lined the inside with plastic but NOT the bottom.
It takes a little more water as the water drains out since the beds are elevated but not a big deal. You don't want to line the bottom otherwise you will have a bathtub.
I filled with good soil. Put a layer of compost in and topped off with more soil and a little bit of sand to make for a really good soil to work with.
Nice thing about raised beds is you never walk on the ground. So no compaction. And, I don't think the weeds are as bad either. Weed seeds don't get into the raised beads as bad as a regular garden.
2' high is about right so you don't have to bend over much. 4' is about right to reach from either side.
Sorry, I don't have pictures. |

| Should be a cinch with your dimensions to build a cover with 4x8 or 2x8 clear roofing panels. Just going to have to come up with a way to regulate temperatures to not get overly hot on a day that's unseasonably warm in the winter. |

NE WI | Dad got a bunch of rusted out or leaking water tanks. They work pretty good. Can set on 4x4s if you want them higher.

| Mine has set in a shed forever as well. I was thinking about loading it on the scrap trailer when they take away my derecho damaged bins. Might have to keep it now. Unusual thing about it is that it is mounted on an old Cadillac running gear. |
