Independence OR
Mud build up under the feed rolls can cause issues. We run a cover under our feed rolls and that contributes to the problem. Might want to try and wash it out really good. When you sharpen the small filings can get in there and cause issues as well. In chopper school they said that if you change the blades on the metal detector roll make sure you check every bolt and nut with a compass to make sure they are not magnetized. They said in transport the replacement bolts can get magnetized. Also said no air tools on that roll, I guess using a air gun can magnetize them too. I know how infuriating it can be when you get false readings. We ran a 492 850, and a 496 840. I would say that they are basically exactly the same.
