| There are 3 versions of 4050 engine setups. Early 4050 tractors had a 4240 hood, radiator, and fuel tank setup. Mid serial number range had the 466 also but had a turbo manifold with no turbo and big 4440 style muffler. This is when all the sheet metal, side screens and fuel tanks became the same size on all 3 small frame tractors. The last version had the 359 engine of course but the sheet metal stayed the same.
So the parts book is correct but there are short and tall radiator versions within the same model of tractor. I think the OP probably needs a 4240 style shroud if he has an early serial number tractor. | |
