I am surprised by the answers as well.

Maybe some of you guys should try some of the dreaded no-till coulters out front to make your opener blades last longer.

I run coulters on my notill bean planter and the openers seem to go a long ways. Getting about 500 acres per row out of the 3.5mm blades from shoup to get down to 14.5"


agree 100%. run coulters almost just to deflect rocks, protect openers. 300 acres per row and may or may not change them out, about 14 3/4 or just under. probably use em for another 100 again.
