Southern Alberta | Canola seed here is about 8 for 5020/5030 and 8.50 for 5440 and about 9 for the 5770. The 5770 sucked on all the yield trials in Alberta this year, so certainly not going to pay more for a poorer canola. The liberty was supposed to be 12/ac. That puts 5lbs of 5440 at 42.5 +12 liberty which is $54.50/ac. That is very close to what you are paying. Suggested price on Invigor canolas was $499/50 lb bag which is $10/lb. Most years the price holds close to srp, but with a surplus of seed this year the price war is going to be good. | |
