There's not a dedicated transmission filter on a 8RT or 8R tractor. all oil is filtered through the 2 filters. You can get a filter cutter from Jeg's, but it wouldn't tell you what's going on with the transmission. The sole indicator of coming transmission issues is teflon seal material in the lower sump screen and / or multiple failed calibrations. Other than that, it's all in how hard you pull them, and how aggressive you are with them. The newer hydro modules we've been installing for the last 2-3 years are getting some age on them (around 2-3 K hours), and so far have had fewer issues than the early modules.
