Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | Not sure about the change to the newer models....I assume you mean the 2000 series? I do know they now have hydraulic down pressure instead of a spring.
There is more vertical travel on the 2000's for the row units.
I think my 24 row takes about 30 gpm when it was a hydraulic drive. Not sure how much the hydraulic alternator would require. I changed mine to Precision VSets and it all runs off the tractor alternator.
