| I have been looking awhile for larger hp tractor and waiting on what seems to be a good deal. I have local case dealer that has both John Deere 8760 on the lot and a 79 Steiger. The JD has 8400 hrs and the Steiger has 6400. But the JD is 3 times the price of the steiger. From what I have learned about the JD 8760, that is basically the first JD 4wd I have heard people had very few problems over some the 30-50 series. I no little about these older steigers. Not many in my area. So other then being 10 years older, why would the steiger be significantly cheaper then the JD? Part Availability? I have some Case equipment hoping the dealership will give me decent trade in value for, so trying to learn as much as I can for bargaining strategy. Thanks
