Subject: RE: Anyone try the soft rate springs?

Jeffersonville, OH
On the older tractors with the air suspension we have started buying a Viair 100% duty cycle compressor (like most pneumatic down pressure systems run) and running that off a pressure switch with a regulator going to the factory air "tanks." We see less failures of the compressor, but still retain the ride of the air. 90% of the time the small compressor fails in the box under the cab because it was only a 6% duty cycle compressor, so any leak, and it's done for. These big ones, can run until they eat enough dust to kill them, but they keep on running. We wire them in to the factory wiring harness so all the original fuses are still used, but with a different setup.

Next time we do one I will post some pictures.
