Northeast Indiana | We are going with the Martin 2nd stage closer with their sharktooth closing wheels. The Martin system is dependent on the on the factory closing wheel downforce but has its own adjustment. It would work in combination with your closing wheels where the handle on the tail would set your down pressure for both stages, then the adjustment of the firming wheel can be used to control your depth. Its a balance between both adjustments to get the depth you want out of your closing wheels and the overall pressure on the complete system. Martin makes a more expensive 2 stage system that uses parallel arms and an airbag for down pressure, but we didn't want to deal with more air lines and another compressor to control the more advanced system. | |
