Mitchell, SD | We have been long term notill with cover crops. We have liked using Thompson closing wheels, just often thought that having a second stage firming wheel to follow would be desirable in most cases. We are considering a Yetter 6200 firming wheel and a Martin Till 2nd stage closer. I like the Yetter since it appears that it would be independent of the closing wheel tail section. The MartinTill could possibly work well on our planter with airbag closing pressure. It appears it could limit the Thompson wheel depth, just not sure if that could be a bad thing over uneven ground. Also I’m told it comes in a narrower 4” wheel. Anyone with experience with either of these two systems have any good input? Thanks!
