Subject: RE: Fendt vs John Deere opinions

Fendt has
a more efficient pto design. more pto hp on comparable engine hp.

1000 series uses a 12.4 liter MAN engine peak torque at 1150-1350 rpm with no HP bulge, hydraulic driven fan that is reversible, deere power bulge is only available for transport work or pto work if you want to power bulge for heavy draft is an option.

the emissions system on the Fend has no regenerations. no dpf

Fendt is CVT trans with joy stick, left hand reverser and pedal control with 2 cruise control speeds, 2 engine speeds and tractor management where you dont use the throttle other then pto work, front and rear axle have there own transmission with no ranges and smart front axle management that helps in traction and also in headland turning. 50kmh standard with no ranges, air/hydraulic trailer brakes standard equipment. separate oil reservoirs from trans and hydraulic

get prices and see how that stuff operates on a deere. left hand reverser, ivt, 50kph, joystick, trailer brakes, are all expensive options that are not as fluid to operate.

fendt has double acting cylinders on 3pt with load compensation and with down force you can use the 3pt for lifting rear for changing duals or tire spacing.

hydraulics Fendt has optional dual pump of 114 gpm deere is only 84 dual pump. fendt has 2x more hydraulic tank capacity, can change out with high flow flat face couplings, a simple screen to customize each hydraulic outlet for soft or hard start, flow, time, priority, lock out, and what outlet goes to what button, shows flow in gpm not percentage.

headland management is a lot more useable and powerful on the Fendt. deere has it but not very powerful, limited on what it can do and how you can trigger things. Fendt you can use trigger, distance or time, all 3 in the same headland if you want. trigger turns on some items, then time or distance can delay other things, IE trigger turns on pto for spreader beater and revs up engine, sets ground speed and catches guidance line but gate opening is delayed a second and the floor chain is a second trigger.

standard front hitch for weight packages and simple weight changes using big monoblocks Fendt is 30k-50k lbs operating weight range. deere is 28k-44k. Fendt has a ton more iron built into it for strength and can go heavier because its built stronger.

stability control on front suspension for car like feel when loaded at high speed, maintenance free hubs and axle joints vs 22 zerks on deere and speed sensitive steering with no stability control.

ISO bus fendt is designed to use them on the standard terminal and joystick again with deere its options to try to control some of that stuff but not as slick.

fendt will have maintenance of first 7 services are taken care of by the dealer, better standard warranty with lots of optional warranty.

better cab design, more glass is cleaned with wipers, better cab suspension options, better all around visibility and reverse operator option.

Deere is trying to get to a Fendt style but they are a far cry from a Gen 6 platform. you get a lot more reliable, efficient productive tractor with service plan and better warranty for similar money with a proven engine and transmission system on tractors that have industry leading uptime.
