Subject: RE: Fendt vs John Deere opinions

Northwest iowa
I needed a high hp tractor to run my lsb. Have always had 8000 deeres but wanted variable transmission and heard too many horror stories about cost and time to change out the ivt. A Fendt cvt can be changed out in a short day for under $20k while many of the deeres can cost over twice that amount. I suppose if you buy new and trade before the warranty is up none of this matters, but I’m not a new tractor buyer. I’ve been happy with my 930 so far. It hasn’t been perfect and there’s a learning curve like with everything. Like others have commented the visibility is better from the cab in the deere, but the fendt rides better. Maintenance was confusing and odd at first but again, learning curve...
I will buy more Fendt tractors as needed.
