Look for a 6631. Completely different tool. Frame is MUCH heavier (Sunflower 1400 series disc frame). No problem pulling at higher (7.5-8 mph) speeds as the frame is heavy enough that the wings dont bounce. We prefer to run ours in late fall or early spring once stalks have been rained on at least once and started to rot. Figure on about 10 HP per foot. Setup by a dealer is critical. Once it is leveled, it will do a great job, but all dimensions and settings have to be right. We have this as well as a 1435 disc and actually wish we had two VT's instead. It is more aggressive than what a lot of guys like, but it throws enough dirt to anchor the stalks to the ground so they will break down over winter and not wash with heavy rains.
You're assessment is spot on.
