I'm with ya on this because I've seen something similar work. Windmill pump with a water line going to a salvaged rear heater from a school buss. Pulled water from the bottom of an old well and returned it back to the top of the well. Guy ran it into a 8x12 lawnmower shed he used as a break room. It is nice on 90° days and amazing when its in the teens outside. One must have is a drip tray for condensation under the radiators/a-coils/water to air exchanger.

Basically its a wind powered geoothermal well loop. If there's a pond close by it could be done in a similar way. The more volume to draw from the better on larger applications.

Water is more dense than air so it will carry more thermal energy per volume so you don't have to move nearly as much for the same effect. For pure cooling or heating effect a liquid makes more sense
