Sunburst Montana
Massey was always cheaper then JD back in the old days. I know JD dealers around here that lost sales to Massey because a 7720 cost as much as a 860. Course JD made up for that with resale value. When we traded our 4 year old grey cab 760 for an 8820 we had to go with a one that had the same hours as the 760 because the that’s all we could afford in 1981. But then again that 8820 was still worth 2/3rds what we paid for it 10 years later. Massey guys who were still running them had to jump ship to the IH/CIH axial flow because of the bounty Case offered for them. My point is if you bought a Massey in the 80s and ran it 20 years you had nothing.
