Subject: 846 Versatile to 9282 New Holland

Colby, KS

Looking to add another 4WD tractor.  Have an 846 Versatile with the old L10 Cummins.  Just wanting to add something easier for the hired help to drive as a lot of folks can't handle the old constant-mesh 12 speed.   New tractor will be pulling the same implements as the 846.

The L10 is rated at 230hp/748 ft.lb. torque.  Considering a New Holland 9282 with the 8.3L at 270hp/825 ft.lb.   I know the 8.3's don't have the grunt of a M11 or N14, but the numbers look better than the old L10.

Will a 9282 pull head to head with the old 846?  I'd prefer a 9482 or 9484, but they are harder to find that 92's.
