Our globe has a magnetic base, I just stuck a 6" square piece of steel plate to the 2 raised ribs in the center of the roof with double sided 3M tape, got it from the auto body guys. It's been on there 3 years now and isn't showing any signs of ripping off. That tape is some seriously sticky stuff, since discovering it I found lots of other uses for it haha.
