loss of habitat was a huge issue. Think of all the fence lines and tree rows that have been bulldozed down. Someone else mentioned they thought the decline in quail population was also in part do to reduction of sorghum acres which provided food and cover. Their theory was that quail dont feed on the larger grains like corn and soybeans.
