NO!  I have been in floor heat shops.... you open door on super cold day and it takes forever to warm back up.  Mine takes a couple minutes.  No big LP use, have only replaced one thermostat in 8 years, have two thermostats on two heaters.  One doesn't work- other one keeps shop warm. KISS here!!

MAYBE if I was on creeper on floor all day it would be better??  My floor certainly not cold by any stretch tho....

point being    I just don't understand spending that much money

flame away!! difference of opinion is what makes us great!

We came out of a shop that had tube heat into a shop with floor heat 10 years ago. You will never ever convince me to go back. I will work out of a three drawer craftsman flip top with rickety saw horses topped with plywood before I went back. We could open any door and you wouldn't know it within minutes but the heat starts where it should in the floor. The old shop with tube heat has been delegated to storing loader(s) for feeding and snow removal along with seed and chemical at 45 degrees or so.
