SW Sask | As long as you buy the right Deere. Make a statement like that with my dad around, and he would go on a rant about the 1830 he had in the 1970s.
And for the "service" argument, I know that it varies by dealership, but when I was a kid on the farm in the 1970s and 1980s, Deere service in our area was never better than average, and often worse.
As a generalization, the used market indicates that you're correct. But its not a guarantee.
