SE IL and SW IN | In an effort to diagnose some abdominal discomfort, my Dr, has me keeping a log paying attention to FODMAP (FODMAP stands for fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols, which are short-chain carbohydrates (sugars) that the small intestine absorbs poorly.). It seems to be working. I never heard of this until last week, but it fits with the low carb diet.
Does anyone have experience?

Pittsburg, Kansas | I had not heard of it and had to look it up. Here is one web site that list foods to eat and not eat.
https://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/
Looks like it is targeted specifically for people with IBS. It has some similarities with keto but looks to have different goals (not nutritional ketosis) so has a bunch of foods that would not go well with a keto diet. High carb foods like corn products, etc.

SE IL and SW IN | I have visited that website and printed the list for reference. We were looking for a gluten intolerance but my food log suggests that I pay attention to this for a while. Through the week, I do fine but need to figure out how to simplify my weekend eating. |

Pittsburg, Kansas | I think more people are sensative to certain foods than realize it. They may suffer symptoms and just write them off as "getting older" or "I over did it" or some other reason and never associate the foods that are causing them problems with their symptoms.
A whole host of my health problems went away when I changed what I ate.
An elimination diet to find out what bothers a preson I think is a cheap way to potentially improve ones health. A person just has to do it in a smart and healthy way and do it long enough the symptoms have time to go away.
