Yes, the thing on the end of the engine is the engine gearcase.
The one you are talking about, and the electromagnetic clutch is beside, is the primary countershaft gearcase.

I don't see any shaft going over across the combine to the other side, though.
On the Electro clutch I seen a hub and ring that looks like maybe if it was wore some, it could likely cause it to click when it not full of grease.
As I did replace the bushings on the pulley .
Then I was thinking if the belt has a burnt area in it ,that is causing it to vibrate and cause a ticking or clicking noise when the grease area isn't full.
The only other thing I can think of is the shaft is wore enough to cause it , but I cannot see or fell it.
The noise does seem to come from the end where the Clutch is more than any where's else and it'll start to do it sometimes when I'm turning sharp then it'll stop when I start to go straight.
